1. Who's who

battlerelay.com is operated by BattleRelay Media Ltd, NZBN 9429051384720, of Level 2, 112 Cuba Street, Te Aro, Wellington 6011, New Zealand ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept these terms; if you don't accept them, the door is the little × on your browser tab.

2. What the site is

An independent editorial publication: game reviews, news, guides and opinion. It is free to read. We sell no products through this site and take no payments on it.

3. Our content

All articles, reviews, scores, images we created, logos and the general xerox-flavoured look of the site are owned by BattleRelay Media Ltd or our licensors, and protected by New Zealand and international copyright law. You may:

• read, share and link to anything, with our blessing;
• quote short excerpts with attribution and a link.

You may not republish whole articles, scrape the site for commercial datasets, or pass our work off as your own. Game titles, artwork and trademarks referenced in our coverage belong to their respective owners; our use of them is editorial.

4. Reviews and opinions

Our reviews are opinions — informed, finished-the-game, disclosed-everything opinions, but opinions. A 9/10 is not a warranty that you'll love the game, and a 4/10 is not defamation of your favourite studio. Scores are final at publication; factual errors are corrected visibly.

5. Acceptable use

Don't attack, probe or overload the site; don't attempt to access other people's data; don't use our forms to send spam or unlawful content. If you send us material (letters, tips), you confirm you have the right to send it and grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish it on the letters page — tell us if you'd rather we didn't, and we won't.

6. Third-party links

We link out to storefronts, studios and other publications. We're not responsible for their content, prices, availability or privacy practices. A link is a pointer, not an endorsement — unless the surrounding article says it is, in which case it's an opinion (see clause 4).

7. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is". We work hard on accuracy but can't promise the site will be error-free or uninterrupted — sometimes the fibre goes down, sometimes a patch changes a game after we've written about it. Nothing on this site is professional advice of any kind.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply. Our total liability to you, if any, is capped at NZ$50 — roughly the price of a very good indie bundle.

9. Privacy

Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy and cookies under the Cookie Policy. Both are written in actual English.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above will change and material updates get a site note. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

11. Governing law
